Show Cats
This page is dedicated to our current and past show cats. Russpurrz shows exclusively in CFA (Cat Fanciers' Association). We believe that showing cats is a necessary part of breeding. However, we do not believe in showing a cat that does not like to be shown. It is possible to work with a cat that is frightened, but a cat that is not scared, just stressed and angry about being in a show hall should be left at home. Of course, this is just our own opinion.
We have granded many cats. We are now up to 30 - 15 in premiership and 15 in championship, and we are hoping to have many more!

Abby went to Medina this year in 2005 as a Grand Champion and we were very proud to see her achieve winning the Founder's Award being the highest scoring birman in championship! She looked beautiful!
"Abby" granded at the cat show held in Collinsville, IL on 11/6/04. Don Williams did the honors. We are very proud of this girl and very thankful to all the judges who helped her grand!

Cupid is absolutely a love and quite possibly the best birman I've produced so far. He did very well at the big birman show in Medina, OH being only 5 mos. of age and scoring as 2nd highest birman kitten in the show. We are very proud of him and hope to be using him for breeding soon!

Candy is a very lovely girl and did quite well as a kitten. She even got a couple finals at her open show. We hope to eventually grand her, but right now she is either staying home to mature more or have babies first. We'll see.

Ahavah is a meditation term meaning love. He is a seal point male - perfect head and markings - and sooooo sweet natured.
Ahavah attended his first show at just barely 4 mos. of age - he was against 8 other birman kittens older than he and held up very well, getting 1 best of breed and several 2nd best of colors out of 5 other seal points. Jois Jensen not only finaled him, but gave him BEST KITTEN in show!
Ahavah is continued doing well in shows as a kitten and an adult. He granded at the 4/10/04 at the Green Bay, WI show, earning more than enough points to put him over the top, although he only needed 5 points going into the show. He has gone to live with Dee Johnson of Jessibirs Birmans - Big Thanks to her for showing to GRAND status!

Russpurrz Atlantis
Atlantis, Ahavah's brother, is a lilac lynx point male - great head and body!! My daughter has fallen head over heels in love with him, so I guess he will be staying with us. The only thing I'm not liking so much about him right now is his eyes - I wish they were bigger, but it could just be because he is a larger than normal kitten right now. His markings seem good - can see front feet markings well and back laces are looking good, but nothing definite yet! He is a sweetheart and and likes to lick you.

"Bria" is a beautiful blue point female that was an very close "one show grand." She earned 72 points in her first show as a Premier. She has a body to die for and is very, very sweet. We are still showing her proudly as a GP, and are happy to report that she can hold her own among the boys, which for a girl is sometimes a very hard feat!

Trudy granded several months ago at the St. Louis show in April in Annette Wilson's ring! We have professional pics, but the scanner is on the blink, but we will get those up soon!
"Trudy" is a beautiful girl that has done very well as a kitten, getting into many finals, and holding up well against large classes of beautiful birmans. We have kept her at home until Yoshi could finish granding, but she will now be out again, hoping to attain the Grand Champion Title herself. She is very sweet and has a phenomenal body.

Xanadu is Cal's brother and she is a beautiful girl. She has perfect markings and a wonderful head and body. I actually like her better than Cal overall, but the judges usually like those BIG males :-). She has got some grand points, but more importantly right now, she is making some top show babies with her grandfather, Louie. We've done the breeding twice and have gotten excellent quality each time. I may never breed her to anyone else ;-P

Sophie granded at the Japanese Bobtail Cat Show held in St. Louis the first weekend in August as well - Pam Delabar did the honors. Sophie actually granded in only 4 shows and since the count was so low at all the shows, she did extremely well!

"Tupper" is a beautiful boy that is one of the best I've produced yet. He granded the weekend of the 7th and will now hopefully be making some beautiful babies just like him.
Weaver granded 5/13/01 at the National Birman Fanciers show in Dallas, Tx. in Brian Pearson's ring. Competition was very tough with 30 birmans entered in championship. We are very proud of our FIRST FEMALE TO GRAND IN CHAMPIONSHIP!

At her first show with them in Little Rock, Xele got 5 out of 6 finals and then in Shreveport, LA, she received 3 AB finals. A big thanks to James & Paula for showing her off and loving her so well! She can now be seen at shows looking for those Grand Points.

"Angel" is a sweet, beautiful girl, with large eyes, a nose bump to die for, strong chin and very stocky body that the judges have just loved. She's only been shown in four shows as a premier and only needed 4 points to grand at the Carbondale, IL show, where Diana Doernberg made her BLH Premier and 2nd BAB Premier Many thanks to the judges that have liked her so much.
Angel did very well at Medina, getting 2 2nd Best of Breeds and two finals! You will hopefully see her at the International Show.

"GRANDED" Scarlett granded on 5/16/99 at the Mt. Vernon, IL show. Scarlett is a very sweet girl that is rather a prima donna. She was our first "real" show cat and did make a few finals. However, she started cycling and wanting to have babies soon after she was championed, so she never earned any grand points. She made 2 finals in her first show "back out" as an open, beating a couple premiers and a grand in those rings.Scarlett is also both Taz's mother.

Sorry for the eyes! I learned a valuable lesson in saving photos as they are originally in case of flub-ups :-). Bastian is a very sweet seal point male that is now living in Louisville, KY. He was our very first home grown grand. He holds a very special place in our hearts.
